How To - Occasions Explained
The Occasions tab in the Events Host is where you can configure the different booking options that you want to offer to your customers.
Purpose of Occasions:
Occasions represent the specific booking types or events that customers can choose from. This could include things like a standard table booking, a private dining event, a garden party, etc.
Each occasion is a self-contained booking option with its own settings and requirements
Occasion Configuration
Internal Name: This is the name you'll see in the backend for reference.
Display Name: This is the name the customer will see when booking.
Description: Provide details about the occasion for customers.
Minimum/Maximum Covers: Set the party size range for this occasion.
Maximum Advance Booking: Specify how far in advance it can be booked.
Minimum Notice: Determine the minimum notice required to book this occasion.
Companies/Sites: Choose where this occasion is available.
Channels: Select the booking channels (e.g. online, API, host app) that this occasion can be booked through.
Area Selection: Decide which areas the customer can choose from.
Menu Selection: Attach the menus that can be selected for this occasion.
Upsell Selection: Choose which upsells to include or exclude.
Schedule: Set the date range and recurrence for this occasion
Occasions tie together all the other components of events admin, connecting menus, areas, time slots, and other settings into a cohesive booking experience.
When a customer books an occasion, the system will automatically apply the relevant rules, availability, and options
